Wow....have I ever neglected this place! So much has been going on that I've just not made time to come here and post. I'm going to try to change that though!
Since the last time I posted, Patrick and I got married! We had a beautiful little ceremony on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. The location is called the Inn on the Riverwalk....it's a gorgeous Bed and Breakfast and it's owned and operated by a wonderful couple. The ladies that work there are fantastic and helped with planning the whole thing. If I can figure it out again I'll try to add some pictures on here.
We've also moved on to the next step in the Immigration process. Once we got married, we had to file for Adjustment of Status. This changes Pat's status from being a K1 Fiance to a Permanent Resident. We filed in February and so far the only thing that's been approved is his work visa. This is fine though because this will allow him to finally get a Texas driver's license and he can begin looking for work. He's super excited about that ... the poor guy has been going crazy with just sitting at home all day! It'll be really nice for him to be able to get back into a routine and have something to look forward to doing each day!
Other than that not much else going on......once we receive word on his Greencard, I'll post again! For now, I better get back to work...lol!
Doei!!

APPROVED!!!!!!
Pat's interview went great and he was approved for his Visa to move here!!!! My sweetie is FINALLY coming home!!
He said it took all of about 10 minutes once he finally got to the window and started actually having the interview. They asked a few questions, looked at a few documents and told him he was approved and they would mail him back his passport and visa in a few days!!!
NOW...to get his resignation turned in at work and get the plane ticket purchased!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Medical Appointment
Well, Pat had his medical today and everything went great! He said it was really easy...he had to get two shots and a bit of blood drawn but overall it was a quick and mostly painless procedure..lol!
And one very cool thing about today was that he got to meet a guy we've been talking to on Visajourney and Facebook who is a Dutchman marrying a girl from California!! We've been talking with John and Paula now for a while and were pleasantly surprised when we learned that not only did Pat and John have their medicals the same day but they also have their Visa interviews on August 25th at 1330!! AND...Paula will be in the Netherlands with John for the interview so the three of them are going to meet in Amsterdam a little early and have lunch! Now I'll not only be waiting to hear the outcome of Pat's interview but John's as well!!
GOOD LUCK to you both!!!

WOOHOO!!
We have an Interview date!! Well, actually we have the dates for his Medical as well but the interview date is the most important one..lol!
Pat will go for his medical on Wednesday, August 12th at 12:00. And then his Interview is set for Tuesday, August 25th at 1:30 pm (Netherlands time). I'm seriously hoping that I'll know the outcome of the interview by 8am Texas time but it'll all depend on how long Pat has to wait!
As soon as I know something...y'all will know something.. :-)

NOA2 FINALLY!
YESSSSSSSSS!!! We FINALLY got the much anticipated 2nd approval!
Next steps for us will be all up to Patrick. He will need to get the medical exam done and then go for the Visa Interview. Once those are done and passed he should be able to come home about a month later!!! **cheers**

Howdy!
Sorry it's been so long since I've updated the blog. Nothing new has happened so there really wasn't much to add. We're still waiting for our NOA2....it does look like it will come this month as the Vermont Service Center where we filed has started working on February filings! We've had three from the month of February so far!! They are off to a great start so let's hope they keep going just like this!!!

Howdy.. ;-)
Just dropping it for a minute....we're moving along steadily here, getting things organized and ready for the next step in the process so we'll be ready when that second approval comes. We moved up another 17 or so spots this week to #357 which is over 100 spots in the 41 days since we filed. This is really good...it means we SHOULD see an approval no later then mid-June!! :-)

Igor's List
This website we are part of, Visa Journey, is so cool! They have something on there called Igor's List...it's basically a list of every member on the site and it uses information that we input such as the date we filed our petitions, the date we got our first approval, etc. It then compiles all of this information into a master list and places everyone in a sort of que....the closer to the top of the list, the sooner you should get your final approval and be able to move on to the interview stage.
When we first added our information, we were wayyyyyyyy at the bottom, #458. Over the last three weeks we've steadily moved up and are now listed at #389. Probably doesn't seem like much but to us it's huge. I've read about people staying in or around the same number for months and here we've moved up 69 places in less than a month......I can sure handle that! ;-)
I'm going to add a running log to the blog of where we are on it....that way you can keep up with us too..hehe!
Hope everyone is doing well, we'd love to hear from more of you (hint, hint)!
Take care,
Liz

Our Visa Journey
Ok, so some of you know our story and that we are going through the process of getting a visa for Patrick. What some of you might not know is what that actually involves....so, I'll break it down a bit for you.
First, when Pat was here in February we filed a petition for what is called a K-1 (Fiance) Visa. Once that petition has been approved, the next step will be for Pat to have an interview at the American Consulate in Amsterdam. When he passes that interview he will then be issued the visa and can then legally enter the United States. After he enters, we will finish planning our wedding and be married about a month after he arrives.
The next step is called the Adjustment of Status process. Once we're married, we will file the paperwork for this process. There will be another interview, this time with both of us, and when it's approved then Pat will be issued a 2 year green card..YAY!! hehe!
After this then we are finished for 2 years......after those two years, Pat is eligible for a 10 year greencard... :-)
Right now, the entire process is taking 6-8 months...which is great since this same process at this time last year was taking over a year to complete.
So, since we filed in February we are thinking...and hoping...that everything will be completed by August or September and Patrick will be here by October. Just in time for the holidays...YAY!!
We are members of a wonderful website called Visa Journey....we've met a lot of great people from all over the world and have made some wonderful friends who are going through the same process as we are. We are very lucky to have these friends, it's nice to have someone to talk to who understands what we are going through....thank you too all of you for being there for us and sharing your experience!!
Much Love,
Liz

Well, it seems to be up and running... :-) We are still adding and changing a few things so please be patient.
Thank you to our friend, Paul!! He was a huge help in getting the layout to work for our slideshow!
I thought this would be something nice for Pat and I to have together to keep everyone updated on how things are going, where we are in the Visa process and Pat's adjustment to life in Texas once he gets here! Feel free to leave us comments....be nice though...hehe! ;-)
Can't wait to hear from you all!!
Take care,
Liz
